Join us as we show you how to leverage the power of this tool to manage your classroom. 

Apps to Support the Special Education Teacher (A.S.S.E.T.)

This iPad-centric course will cover a variety of skill based and creation apps that are useful in the Special Ed classroom. The session will not just cover the functionality of the apps but best practices to incorporate these apps effectively with students. For example: Using iPads as a Center, for assessment or as a behavior management tool. The session will also reveal some of the best kept accessibility secrets the iPad has to offer to reach all types of learners.

iOS 10

In this course, the PD team will explore the most effective and exciting features iOS 10 has to offer!  Released in September 2016, the iOS 10 operating system is sure to help teachers create an engaging learning environment for their students.  Updates to notifications and live broadcasting options within apps are some of the biggest changes that users will come to understand better after participating in this session!

Creating Multi-Touch Books with iBooks Author

The new generation, referred to as Gen Z, is growing up in a world where everyday they are immersed in technology. Students have become producers and creators of content, desiring to put their skills to use in the classroom and sometimes publish it to the world. The iBooks Author Apple application allows students to view interactive textbooks with 3D images, highlighting and note taking capabilities, study cards, and sharing. Students can also create their own material to support the way they learn and share it in multiple ways. Discover how to encourage Gen Z’s passion for technology and the fundamental way they interacts with the world by creating with iBooks Author!

Sheets and Forms with Numbers on the iPad

In this course, you will learn how to incorporate Numbers software into your curriculum using the iPad or other Apple mobile devices! Learn to create spreadsheets and interactive charts, graphs, and tables in the context of a comprehensive lesson. Numbers provide an easy way for students to collect and analyze data and create models to display the data in various ways. This course will review the basic and advanced features to help maximize its use in the classroom.

Digital Storytelling with iMovie 10.1

...Things are getting spooky around here at Teq!  In preparation for Halloween, the PD team has prepared an exciting session that will discuss how teachers and students can utilize iMovie 10.1 to demonstrate creativity and convey elements of effective storytelling. We’ll point out useful updates and fantastic features including Trailer Templates, Storyboards, and Outlines that will help transform the ordinary classroom into an innovative film studio!  See you there in your scary-wear!

Organize and Effectively Use Your Computer: Mac

Join us to learn some basic ways to keep your computer content organized and enhance your knowledge of programs that you can use in the classroom. We will be discussing how to successfully create and save documents, how to create favorites in an appropriate web browser, and how to organize all of this great content for easy access for your Mac computer.

Apple iPad apps: ELA

In this session of Teq Online PD we will be showing you some of our favorite Apple iPad apps for use in the ELA classroom! We will demonstrate the use of English Grammar quizzes for kids with the use of mobile devices, show you how you can easily transform hard copied documents and articles to your device for translation and edits, and provide instruction for English language learners through completely free applications.

Apple iPad apps: Science

Join our PD team as we explore some of our top educational apps in science. Remember building a solar system in school? We have an app that will take this project to a whole new level with more interactivity than ever before. In addition, we will explore our universe and galaxies through mobile devices as well as working with topics for elementary students.

In this course, you will be introduced to some of the latest and greatest apps to use in your Math Classroom! From turning your iOS or Android device into a free graphing calculator to having a personal tutor at your fingertips, we have the apps for you! In this course you will learn how to utilize Keynote software on a variety of iOS devices in order to create presentations that use engaging tools and effects. Enhancing Documents with Pages

In this course, we will look at using Pages word processing software on a variety of Apple devices. Discover how to use basic and advanced features of the Pages software in order to maximize student process and product. In addition, learn how to use Pages to transform your classroom into a collaborative learning environment with a paperless workflow.

In this course we'll cover the basics of using GarageBand to help you and your students create podcasts. Encourage students to get creative and think outside the box with this built in music creation studio. Record, edit, and share sounds from GarageBand to create exciting, educational podcasts.

Using the iPad for Math Practice and Improvement

This course is an elective for the Digital Teacher iPad Certification. Encourage students to get creative with the use of Apple's built in music creation studio. Record, edit, and share sounds from GarageBand to create content like podcasts and audio blogs in the classroom. Get creative and musical with us in this elective course!

Digital Teacher iPad Certification 10: iTunes U (Elective)

This course is an elective for the Digital Teacher iPad Certification. Join us as we explore the part of Apple's iTunes Music Store that is dedicated to educational audio and video content. Find some great sound that can be used in conjunction with your iPads to locate media from universities, museums, and other public media organizations.

Digital Teacher iPad Certification 9: Mobile Assessment (Elective)

This course is an elective for the Digital Teacher iPad Certification. Throughout this course we will examine apps that can be used for various forms of mobile assessment with the iPad. Come learn how apps like Socrative and Nearpod can be used to engage students and provide teachers with data about student progress.

With this course, participants will be able to create digital stories, videos, trailers, and expand their knowledge of these techniques for use with various curriculum connections.

With this course, participants will be able to add and organize content to iPhoto and collaborate with others through a shared Photostream.

Digital Teacher iPad Certification 6: Keynote

With this course, participants will learn how to create engaging Keynote presentations using the vast features of the software. We will review teacher-centered and student-centered activities to help increase its usability in the classroom.

Digital Teacher iPad Certification 5: Numbers

With this course, participants will be able to successfully create spreadsheets for teacher or student based interaction. We will streamline the way teachers and students can collect and analyze data by creating charts, graphs, and tables in the context of a lesson.

With this course, participants will be able to use basic and advanced features of Pages across devices to enhance documents and presentations. We will also review how to enhance workflow with sharing and publishing techniques.

With this course, participants will be able to successfully use iPad apps in conjunction with one another to create a project based learning activity. Throughout this session, we will demonstrate a complete activity and the use of multiple apps to perform various functions such as driving research, gathering data, and creating presentations.

In this course, teachers will be able to use the iPad as a teacher-centered technology with a single iPad in the teacher's hands. We will then extend the experience into whole-class instruction with student access to the iPads for various instructional activities.

Going Further with iMovie

It's time to take digital storytelling into spooky places this Halloween, with tools that will make creative teachers and students alike scream! When teachers build digital storytelling into their instruction, students are engaged in a creative learning experience that is strongly connected with reading, writing, and speaking across the curriculum. In this course, we will continue exploring the resources available in iMovie for Mavericks OS X , with a focus on advanced tools such as green screen effects, picture-in-picture editing, and the use of keywords on footage. This activity will present ways these tools can help students and teachers create more dynamic and refined examples of digital storytelling for any occasion-no matter how scary.
