IEP/504 Accommodations

Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans are instrumental tools in getting formal help for students in K-12 education with learning and attention issues. While they both focus on giving all students equal opportunities to learn, they are used for different reasons; IEPs for special education and 504 plans for physical access to learning. Join us as we go over these differences in depth and give you strategies and awareness to help you meet every student's needs according to their plans.

SAMR and TPACK

Teachers have been delivering fantastic lessons for generations, using a wide array of technology, or even none at all. Once technology is made available, how does it get used? This session will explore two paradigms to analyze technology integration within the classroom – the Technological/Pedagogical/Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, and the SAMR Substitution/Augmentation/Modification/Redefinition (SAMR) framework. Participants will leave with a keener eye towards examining technology usage and some ways to enable teachers to better their own practices.

Evaluating Effective Classroom Technology Usage

It is easy to walk into a classroom and see that a teacher has something displayed on an interactive whiteboard, but how do you really assess what type of learning is taking place? During this session, we will examine the utilization of Interactive Whiteboards, Laptops/Chromebooks, and iPads/Tablets into classroom instruction. Participants will leave this session able to apply two model frameworks for the integration of technology into classroom curriculum and content:  SAMR and T-PACK. We will look at effective tools for evaluation:  lesson planning templates and rubrics.  If you are concerned that your school technology investments may be underutilized, or you want to highlight your great technology pioneers, this session is for you.

Identifying Effective Classroom Technology Usage

What makes a great technology-infused lesson?  How can you encourage teachers to better utilize their available classroom technology more effectively? Participants will leave this session with an understanding of two popular model frameworks for integrating technology tools: SAMR and T-PACK. Administrators will be better able to motivate their teachers into higher levels of effective technology usage, and teachers will be able to do lesson planning to enable deeper understanding and increased engagement from their students.

Join us for our second session of our G Suite Admin Series! Our first session covered how to manage users, enable and disable services, and create groups to more efficiently manage daily communication. This session will dive deeper into the capabilities of the Admin Panel and go over configuring security settings, managing devices, and getting support! Technology to Support the Danielson Framework - Domain 4

Teachers face countless choices  daily when it comes to their students, lesson planning, parent interaction, and the environment of where learning takes place. With a profession as challenging as teaching, self reflection is beneficial for teachers as it presents opportunities for growth. Thinking about what works, and why it works as well as what didn't work and why it didn't work plays an integral role in the development of becoming a better teacher and role model for students. Join our curriculum specialists as we go through strategies for reflecting on teaching, maintaining accurate records, communicating with families, participating in the professional community, growing and developing professionally, and showing professionalism all while creating engaging lessons for our students and keeping students informed, motivated, and improving performance. Technology to Support the Danielson Framework - Domain 2

Join our Curriculum Specialists as we explore a variety of resources and technology to support Domain 2 of the Danielson Framework, focusing our attention on your efforts in creating an exceptional "Classroom Environment." Priorities for establishing a classroom environment full of respect and rapport, a culture for learning, and organizing the physical space include the teacher's ability to create an atmosphere for students that is not only safe and comfortable, but gives all students the feeling of success. Teachers and students begin to work together to establish routines, behavior management strategies, and every-day procedures that work while constructing a caring and warm space, fostering a professional learning setting for all parties involved  As a result, there is mutual respect, understanding, and ultimate success for both teachers and students.
