##### Labdisc - pH of Beverages

In this course we'll look at another classroom use of Labdiscs. You will need either an enviro, general science, or biochem Labdisc to perform this activity. We will be predicting the pH of various household beverages and then measure the pH with more accuracy using the Labdisc. We will then analyze and manipulate the data of the acidity of different beverages within the Labdisc software.

In this advanced session of Gmail we will discuss organization of contacts and groups. We will focus on sharing and collaboration through Google Groups and Hangouts in relevant classroom situations. During this first session on Google Calendar we will discuss the basics of using Calendar in the classroom. We will focus our time on creating events and how to add details to our events such as maps, hangouts and guests.

In this session we will discuss the advanced features of events including the use of scheduling in relevant classroom situations. We’ll then discuss all the ways you can share your calendar and collaborate with others. Finally, we’ll discuss how to set up notifications to help keep you organized!

In this session we will start with the basics of the Drawings apps including the layout and menu options. ##### Creating Digital Content for Students Using Microsoft PowerPoint Part 1

This session of Microsoft Office on the Surface starts the string of sessions focused on Powerpoint, and focuses on the features of Powerpoint unique to the use of document templates. Powerpoint provides a wide variety of template documents that can streamline a teacher’s workflow when creating lessons, games, and projects, as well as a variety of tools for creating your own template for documents such as student projects. During the session we will focus on opening, using, and storing these new templates quickly and easily. We will also discuss how to use tools such as themes, layouts, and the traits of content boxes to create your own custom templates that can be saved and distributed for students to use.

##### Creating Digital Content for Students Using Microsoft Word Part 1

This session of Microsoft Office on the Surface starts the string of sessions focused on Word, and focuses on features within the Word platform that allow a user to easily structure documents. In addition to pre-loaded formats in the form of templates, Microsoft Word provides a number of formatting tools than can be used to organize text into Headings, subheadings, or other styles that automatically help organize a document. We wrap up the session with an introduction to inserting images as Word content, as well as being able to customize an image with separate captions.

##### Surface Pro 3 and Windows 8, Part 3

This session will explore the touch-dependent features of the Surface Pro 3 hardware. As a combination tablet and laptop, the Surface Pro 3 can be used quickly and intuitively with a touchscreen interface, as well as swipe gestures on the keyboard cover and with the Surface Pen stylus. This session will provide a brief overview of these types of interaction, display unique features of each, and discuss when each might be appropriate when using the device. This session will also feature snapping multiple applications to the Surface Pro screen, a useful feature when combining educational apps with OneNote use in a classroom setting.

##### Surface Pro 3 and Windows 8, Part 4

This session will focus on the aspects of the Surface Pro 3's hardware that have not been previously covered. We will review the available ports, as well as how to connect additional outside hardware to the device for classroom use. Finally, we will provide some tips on the maintenance of both the hardware and software of the Surface Pro 3, in order to maximize the effective life of your device when used heavily in a classroom setting.

This session will explore some applications and programs that can be downloaded to the Surface Pro 3. With quick access to the App store, teachers will be able to locate and quickly download a number of free applications in the classroom, and we've found some in particular we would recommend to streamline your use of the Surface, and expose teachers to new ways they and their students can use this device.

##### Surface Pro 3 and Windows 8.1, Part 6

In this session, our focus is on tips and tricks any teacher can use to optimize the use of their Surface Pro 3 for everyday classroom use. We introduce teachers to the locations of key settings in the Control Pannel and Settings apps, then introduce concepts such as customizing battery use and login options. We also introduce methods teachers can use to improve the ease of use in a daily setting, particularly for teachers who may require unique accomodations in order to efficiently use a computer as a classroom tool.

##### Creating Digital Content For Students Using Microsoft OneNote Part 1

In the first session of the Creating Digital Content for Students with OneNote string, we introduce OneNote as a comprehensive way to organize, write and carry notebooks for any subject, creating a space for study notes, project collaboration, and more. We introduce the basics of the platform by exploring how to create and organize notebooks, and group pages together based on topic or relevance. We also begin inserting content into a sample notebook by exploring how text and images are added and manipulated. Finally, we demonstrate how teachers can provide templates and create collaboartive opportunities through the sharing of notebooks.

##### Creating Digital Content For Students Using Microsoft PowerPoint Part 2

In this section, we focus on the use of multimedia to create more visually engaging PowerPoint lessons. Participants will explore how to add images, audio, and video from both online and offline sources. We also introduce how to use the Notes section of Powerpoint in a classroom context, either as a teaching material or student resource.

##### Creating Digital Content For Students Using Microsoft Publisher - Part 2

With this course, participants will be able to create, edit, and share free-form document files created in Microsoft Publisher. Participants will use this platform to further customize their Publisher documents using multimedia elements such as Page Parts and Tables, as well as custom Calendars and Headers for student documents. Mix allows teachers to convert Powerpoint presentations into interactive movies, then use these movies to deliver instruction and gather student data directly. During the session we will outline how to use the Sirface Pro 3 to download the Mix tools, use them to add video, audio, activity widgets and assessment questions, then upload a completed lesson for sharing with the whole class.
